Cesar Castro First in 800 Free After Prelims at 2015 FINA World Junior Championships
Cesar Castro of Spain leads the rankings in the men’s 800-meter free after prelims of day three at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships. Castro posted a time of 7:57.21, only .22 ahead of the competition. The final heat of the 800 will swim with tonight’s finals session.
Australia’s Joshua Parrish finished close behind Castro with a time of 7:57.43 from the same heat.
Mexico’s Ricardo Vargas claimed third place in prelims with a finishing time of 8:01.60.
USA’s Taylor Abbott finished fourth overall with a time of 8:06.63, while Sweden’s Victor Johansson grabbed fifth in prelims with a time of 8:07.28.
Romania’s Bogdan Scarlat was sixth overall with a final time of 8:07.41.
Venezuela’s Rafael Davila clocked a time of 8:10.58 from heat three to claim seventh.
Joshua Dannhauser of South Africa rounded out the top eight from prelims with a time of 8:11.87.
