Meryn McCann Ranks First in 200 Back After Prelims at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships

Canada’s Meryn McCann turned in a time of 2:11.15 to claim the first place seed in the 200-meter back during prelims. McCann added slightly to her seed time of 2:11.20.

Russia’s Irina Prikhodko claimed the second place seed with a time of 2:11.35, also from heat five.

Australia’s Minna Atherton posted a close time from heat four to claim the third place seed with a time of 2:11.37.

China’s Liu Yaxin took fourth overall in prelims with a finishing time of 2:11.41, adding slightly to her seed time of 2:09.78.

Japan’s Natsumi Sakai turned in a finishing time of 2:11.64 to grab the fifth place seed.

Canada’s Taylor Ruck claimed the sixth place seed with a finishing time of 2:11.95.

Claire Adams (2:12.52) of the USA and Great Britain’s Rosie Rudin (2:12.95) finished seventh and eighth respectively.
