MANCHESTER, England, April 11. MAKE it three in a row for Russia's Yuri Prilukov in the men's 400 free at the FINA World Short Course Championships.
Prilukov clocked a time of 3:37.35 to win the world short course title for the third straight meet. Previously, he won the 2004 and 2006 titles. Prilukov's effort today surpassed his national and European record of 3:37.81 from 2005.
"This medal is a mark for my test, the mark is excellent, so I am happy," Prilukov told meet organizers. "For me it's just my best time. It's not very fast, because I am preparing mostly for the 1500m. This race is very good training for my 1500m"
Italy's Massi Rosolino took silver with a time of 3:39.60, while Great Britain's Robert Renwick finished with bronze in 3:40.22.
Rosolino just missed his national record of 3:39.55 from 2006, while Renwick crushed his national record of 3:42.67 set this morning.
