World Short Course Championships: Duje Draganja from Croatia Posts Top Qualifying Time in 100 Freestyle Semis
MANCHESTER, England, April 12. CROATIA'S Duje Draganja covered the four-lap freestyle event faster than the rest of the field in the FINA World Short Course Championship semifinal for the 100 freestyle.
Draganja came from behind to put up the top qualifying time of 47.60.
Nabil Kebbab from Algeria nabbed the second-place spot with a time of 47.66. Filippo Magnini of Italy posted the third-best time of 47.77.
Bryan Lundquist of the United States settled for fourth with a time of 47.84. Jose Meolans of Argentina placed fifth with a time of 48.01.
Fernando Silva of Brazil and Nathan Adrian of the United States tied for sixth with a time of 48.19 while Mitja Zastrow from the Netherlands snuck into the final spot for tomorrow night's championship final with an eight-place time of 48.23.
