World, Regional Swimmers of the Year to be Announced in December’s Swimming World Magazine
PHOENIX, Arizona, November 17. NEXT month, Swimming World Magazine will name the 2008 World and Regional Swimmers of the Year. In our annual celebratory issue, the top award in the sport will be given to one man and one woman. While the men's winner may not be difficult to figure out, the women's voting featured a battle among our prestigious panel.
On top of the Swimmers of the Year, we also announce our open water, synchronized and disabled swimming awards as well as those honoring divers and water polo players.
Meanwhile, senior writer John Lohn checks in with the top 10 performances of the year, while our world and American record progressions take up a heavy portion of the magazine as nearly 100 global standards have fallen this year.
In SWIM, Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen addresses how to fight off the winter blues, while J.R. Rosania provides some dryland tips for better backstroke.
In Swimming Technique, Mike Stott chats with Glenn Neufeld of Upper Main Line YMCA, and looks at how Evan Reed trains.
We also take a look at age group swimming around the country in our standard Junior Swimmer features. Speedo American Relay, TYR Age Group Swimmer of the Month and Goldminds.
