Wisconsin DII State Champ Anna teDuits Follows Family’s Footsteps, Announces 2022 Verbal to Badgers

NEW COMMIT: The University of Wisconsin, Madison has picked up a new in-state verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from local standout Anna teDuits of Fitchburg, Wisc.

She will arrive in Madison along with Blair Stoneburg and fellow in-stater Abby Wanezek as a member of the Badgers’ Class of 2026.

Her brother, Truman teDuits, is currently a freshman for the Badgers and the siblings with overlap for two years. Her other older brothers Drew teDuits was an NCAA champion in the 200 back at Wisconsin while Payton teDuits swam for UW-Milwaukee.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin! I can’t wait to further my academic and swimming career as a badger! I want to thank my family, friends and coaches for everything they’ve done for me! Go badgers!! ???”

No stranger to Wisconsin’s program, teDuits swims year-round with Badger Aquatic Club and most recently placed sixth in the 200 back and eighth in the 100 IM at the Wisconsin 13&O Championships in March. In summer 2019, she finaled in the 200m back at Minneapolis Sectionals.

Her best times include:

50 free – 23.91
100 free – 51.84
50 back – 26.27
100 back – 55.97
200 back – 2:01.65
200 IM – 2:06.28

Currently a junior at Madison Edgewood High School, teDuits is already a four-time individual Wisconsin DII State Championship finalist. She won the 200 IM and placed third in the 100 back as a sophomore while taking fifth and second, respectively, in those events as a freshman.

In 2019, she also led off the winning 4×50 medley relay in 26.27 that broke their own DII state record en route to helping her team clinch their fifth-straight championship crown.

The Badgers recently opened a new era by hosting their first official practice in their brand new facility, the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center, that had been under construction for the past few years.
