Virginia A & AA Swimmers Conclude High School Season

RADFORD, Virginia. February, 17. OVER the weekend the swimmers from Virginia competed in their AA and A state championships. The season is over and a few swimmers walked away with double victories and one individual state record. The events were decided by prelim times as the finals were canceled due to a snowstorm that hit the area.

Paige Boyer, a sophomore from Lafayette, recorded the only individual state record for the meet. In her 100 breast she touched in at 1:05.25.

Other meet standouts and double event winners include Matt McLean for the 200 and 500 free, Julie Sablik for the 200 free and 100 fly, and Hannah Davis for the 50 and 100 free.

Jamestown High School won the boys side of the meet with 301 points and for the girls it was Lafayette High School with 389.

Virginia AAA State Meet is this weekend.
