Texas A&M’s Sydney Pickrem finished third tonight in the women’s 400 IM with a time of 3:59.05 at the Women’s NCAA Championships. She also finished third in the 200 IM yesterday, racing to personal best times in both events.

The junior talks about how not being fully satisfied helps keep her motivated. She says tonight was a step in the right direction and working through the little things will help her improve for the years to come.

Pickrem, who will also be racing the 200 breast tomorrow, discusses how she has shifted her mentality and is working on having fun in order to swim fast. The Aggie also cites the supportive and positive training environment in College Station, as well as her training partner Bethany Galat.
