USA Swimming Sectionals, Mount Hood: Missy Franklin Downs Meet Record
MOUNT HOOD, Oregon, July 22. THE third evening of the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Mount Hood produced a long course meter meet record.
Colorado Stars’ Missy Franklin earned a victory in the women’s 200 free with a 2:00.71, while KING’s Andie Taylor placed second in 2:01.39. Bearcat’s Tori Simenec finished third in 2:02.66. Franklin’s time lowered the listed meet record of 2:01.11 set by Taylor back in 2008.
Taylor bounced back in the women’s 400 IM with a triumphant time of 4:46.27. Colorado Stars’ Kelly Naze placed second in 4:52.00, while Evergreen’s Alexandra Malazdrewicz took home third-place honors in 4:57.28.
YMCA Westside’s Tyler Messerschmidt took the men’s 200 free title in 1:51.95, while KING’s Sebastien Bodet placed second in 1:52.33. RallySport’s Matt Sherrier wound up third overall in 1:54.29.
Corvallis’ Logan Storie won the men’s 400 IM crown in 4:31.37. North Jeffco’s Andrew Chevalier touched second in 4:34.95, while Greenwood’s Jared Markham garnered third in 4:36.50.
