EAST MEADOW, New York, March 6. THE first night of long course swimming took place at the USA Swimming Sectional held in East Meadow, N.Y. this weekend.
Alicia Mathieu, 16, of SoNoCo led off the meet with a victory in the women's 1500 free when she hit the wall in 16:46.52. She held off Lauren Morford of Agua Swim, who took second in 16:49.80.
For the men, Ryan Feeley, 16, of Badger dominated the 800 free with a winning effort of 8:21.57. Eric Ress, 17, of SoNoCo placed second in 8:25.11, while Sam Peterson, 16, of Berkeley Aquatics finished third in 8:25.62.
