CARY, North Carolina, March 5. THE first night of short course yard swimming took place with the distance events on offer at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Cary, N.C.
Raleigh Swim's Sarah Henry claimed the women's 1000 free in 9:38.30, while SwimAtlanta's Will Freeman rolled to victory in the men's 1000 free in 8:55.87.
SwimAtlanta's Amanda Weir, Caroline Kenney, Julia Henkel and Allyson Sweeney won the women's 800 free relay in 7:18.16, while SwimMAC's Thomas Santoli, Ben Correll, J.T. Stilley and Mack Montgomery completed the men's 800 free relay in first with a time of 6:34.84.
