LONG BEACH, California, December 18. THE first night of short course yard swimming took place at the USA Swimming Sectional held in Long Beach, Calif.
Haley Anderson won the women's 1000 free in 9:44.46, while Tristin Baxter took second in 9:45.51. Catherine Breed completed the top three in the women's distance event with a 9:48.49.
Tom Koucheravy topped the men's 1000 free with a time of 9:14.17. Brock Redondo finished just a bit behind with a 9:14.83, while Cary Wright wound up third in 9:17.97.
