University Of Toledo Wins Tri-Meet Over Oakland And Illinois
ROCHESTER, Michigan, October 19. THE University of Toledo women's swimming and diving team won their first tri-meet of the season. The Rockets defeated Oakland University, 209-91 and the University of Illinois-Champaign, 183-115.
Leading the way for UT was freshman Jacy Dyer who came in first place in the 1000 free (10:11.11), 200 free (1:52.89) and the 500 free (5:01.41). Also coming in first was junior Kylie Gamelier in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:04.94. In the 50-yard freestyle, senior Leah Woodard came in first place with a time of 23.72 and senior Liz Hinkleman came second with a time of 24.63.
The Rockets swept the diving events, where senior Megan McKinley won both the 1-meter and 3-meter with dives of 268.75 and 277.95. Coming in second was senior Jill Reighard who had dives of 254.80 in the 1-meter and 251.65 in the 3-meter. Freshman Brittany Teneyck came in third place in the diving events with a 224.00 dive in the 1-meter and a 233.70 dive in the 3-meter.
