Universal Sports Network Televising FINA World Cup LIVE
LOS ANGELES, California, October 10. UNIVERSAL Sports will provide multi-platform coverage of the FINA World Cup starting Saturday, Oct. 11 from Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Taking place in seven cities on five continents, Universal Sports TV and UniversalSports.com will feature live and on-demand coverage of this major short-course (25m) competitive circuit.
Fans can tune in to Universal Sports to watch top swimmers from around the globe compete in the first of seven-stages for the 2008 FINA World Cup series. The short course competitions will be fierce as the sports most notable athletes come together to duel for a $1.1 million prize purse. U.S. champions Randall Bal (men's 2007 World Cup winner) and Tara Kirk (American record in the 100m and 200m breaststrokes) along with top international swimmers including Beijing Olympic champions Cesar Cielo of Brazil (gold medalist in 50m free) and Tunisia's Oussama Mellouli (gold medalist in 1500m free) will all be competing.
