NEW COMMIT: The University of Florida has received their fourth verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from U.S. Open qualifier Daniel Gordon of East Berlin, Pa.

He will join Gio Linscheer, Cam Abaqueta and Dawson Joyce in Gainesville as a member of the Gators’ Class of 2026.

He told Swimming World:

“After a unique and challenging year for my recruiting class, I’m proud to announce that l’ve made a verbal commitment to the University of Florida! I’ve dreamed of being a Gator since I was a kid, and I’m super excited to work hard to reach my highest potential in the pool, classroom and life. l’d like to thank God as well as my family, coaches and friends for their patience and support during this process. l’d also like to thank Coaches Nesty, Jungbluth and Szaranek for believing in me. Go Gators!”

A sprint freestyler, Gordon trains year-round with the York YMCA and most recently earned silver in the 100m fly at Middle Atlantic Long Course Seniors earlier this month after sprinting to ninth in the 50m free at the TYR 18&U Spring Cup in Richmond back in April. He also had a strong showing at Toyota U.S. Open in November 2020 as well.
