Team Greenville’s Will Bridges Elects To Be A Georgia Bulldog In 2028
NEW COMMIT: The University of Georgia has added a new verbal commitment for Fall 2028 from Will Bridges of Greer, S.C. Bridges, a Junior National qualifier, specializes in backstroke and sprint freestyle.
He will join Oliver Blanchard and Coyle Moore in Athens as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2032.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so blessed to be able to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Georgia! Thank you to God for His guidance and countless blessings. Thanks to Coach Karl and Carlton for all they have done to get me here. Huge thanks to my parents, friends, and teammates for their never-ending support throughout this process. Finally, thank you to Coach Neil, Coach Mike, and Coach Nate for giving me this incredible opportunity! GO DAWGS!!!”
Bridges, who trains year-round with Team Greenville, most recently competed at NCSA Summer Championships where he placed fifth in the 50m back, sixth in the 100m back, 12th in the 200m free and 18th in the 50m free. Last winter, he raced two events at Juniors East in December before recording seven top-15 finishes at South Carolina Short Course Seniors in February. Bridges also finished 19th in the 200 back at NCSA Spring Championships in March.

- 50 back – 22.98
- 100 back – 48.85
- 200 back – 1:46.56
- 50 free – 20.93
- 100 free – 45.93
- 200 free – 1:39.51
Currently a junior at Eastside High School, Bridges was the runner-up in the 100 free and 100 back at the 2025 South Carolina 5A DII State Championship while helping his 4×100 free relay win. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American finished fourth in the 100 back and fifth in the 100 free at the state meet in 2024 as a freshman.
Georgia finished fourth at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships and 15th at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
