Tom Daley has been working hard to regain the form that earned him the bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics on the 10-meter platform in front of a cheering home crowd in London, attempting to shake off a rough 2013 that saw him off the podium at that year’s world championships due to multiple injuries.

Last year at the Commonwealth Games, Daley successfully defended his 10-meter title with his first international medal since the Olympics, though he admitted more work needed to be done. It appears things are on the right path, based on a 25-point victory on the platform last weekend at the FINA Diving World Series in London. His best scores came in the fifth round, when he scored 102.60 points on a back three-and-a-half pike, which got mostly 9.5s and a couple of 10s from the judges.

So happy to come away with the Gold at the World Series here in London in front of a home crowd! So much fun!

The fact that he kept the Chinese from winning was an impressive feat in itself, as the Chinese are looking strong to win the majority of gold at this summer’s world championships.Congratulations to Tom Daley on winning gold last weekend, and on earning the Swimming World Performance of the Week!
