Swimming World Magazine Cactus Classic: Matt Biel, Kathryn Thompson Score Trifectas; ON DEMAND VIDEO AVAILABLE

TEMPE, Arizona, May 26. OVER the course of the Swimming World Magazine Cactus Classic held in Scottsdale and Tempe, Ariz., Matt Biel and Kathryn Thompson both won three titles each.
Biel proved to be the top distance freestyler among the men with victories in the 400 (3:55.44), 800 (8:23.44) and 1500 (15:45.18) freestyle events. Meanwhile, Thompson snared wins in the 200 back (2:19.03), 200 fly (2:18.64) and 400 IM (4:58.07).
Three women also picked up a pair of triumphs. Caitlin Andrew claimed the 100 free (57.59) and 100 fly (1:02.20), while Leone Vorster touched first in the 200 (2:04.36) and 400 (4:21.92) freestyles. Adriana Marmolejo swept the breaststroke events with wins in the 100 (1:10.94) and 200 (2:31.33)
For the men, Darian Townsend provided the only other multiple winner. He took home the 200 free (1:50.59) and 200 IM (2:01.29).
Nick Brunelli, who has been busy trying to help save Arizona State men's swimming, was also active in the pool. He beat Roland Schoeman in the 50 free, 22.47 to 22.56, while falling to Schoeman in the 100 free, 49.39 to 49.57. He also took second in the 200 free with a 1:52.41.
