MALMO, Sweden, February 8. DURING the last long course meter finals session of the Swedish Grand Prix held in Malmo, Sarah Sjostrom and Simon Sjodin each captured a pair of event titles.
Sjostrom opened the session with a Swedish junior national record in the women's 100 free. She hit the wall in 55.23 for the win. Her second triumph came in the women's 100 back when she stopped the clock in 1:03.23.
Sjodin picked up his first win of the night with a 54.23 in the men's 100 fly. Sjodin also closed the session with a 2:04.42 to win the men's 200 back.
In other action, Mattias Carlsson won the men's 200 free in 1:52.11, while Jennie Johansson touched out Hanna Westrin, 32.64 to 32.91, in the women's 50 breast.
Martin Gustafsson took home the men's 100 breast crown in 1:03.23, while Stina Gardell crushed the women's 400 IM competition with a 4:55.07.
Konstantin Sundin held off Mikael Bergene, 28.15 to 28.24, for the men's 50 back crown, while Petra Granlund posted a 2:12.65 to claim the women's 200 fly.
Meanwhile, Anton Lagerqvist clinched the men's 200 IM title in 2:08.63, while Angelica Risebrandt topped the women's 400 free in 4:32.91.
Additionally, Radovan Siljevski grabbed the men's 50 free crown in 23.70, while Westrin pocketed the women's 200 breast crown in 2:35.00.
In the distance event, Gustav Aberg Lejdstrom snatched the men's 1500 free victory in 16:53.18, while Cecelia Rasumuson went home with the women's 50 fly title in 27.22.
