Sprinters Alyssa Bloser, Keely Rollinson Select Houston; Will Join Cougars in Fall 2021

NEW COMMITS: The University of Houston has added two new verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Little Rock, Ark. native Alyssa Bloser and Keely Rollinson of Sugar Land, Texas.

Both swimmers will join Emma Wright as a member of the Cougars’ class of 2025. Under head coach Ryan Wochomurka, Houston won their fourth-straight conference title at the 2020 American Athletic Championships.

ALYSSA BLOSER

A talented sprint freestyler, Bloser does her club swimming with Arkansas Dolphins and owns the Winter Juniors cut in the 100m free. She placed fourth in both the 50/100 free at Arkansas Seniors in January and was the 100 free runner-up at Columbia Sectionals in 2019. Last summer, she competed in three events at NCSAs and took fifth in the 100m free at Jenks Sectionals.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.58
  • 100 free – 50.82
  • 200 free – 1:51.97

Also competing for Estem High School, Bloser is a two-time Arkansas 1-4A State Championship finalist. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 100 free and collected the silver medal in the 50 free during her junior season.

KEELY ROLLINSON

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so blessed and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swim and study at the University of Houston!! I would like to thank my coaches, teammates, and family for helping me get to this point! GO COOGS!!”

Also a talented sprinter who has met Winter Juniors standards, Rollinson swims year-round with First Colony Swim Team. She recently finaled in four events at College Station Sectionals and notched a best time at Juniors West. She also placed ninth in the 100m free at Des Moines Futures last summer.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.88
  • 100 free – 51.42
  • 200 free – 1:50.87

A rising senior at George Ranch High School, Rollinson raced at the UIL Texas 6A State Championship this past season. Also a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, she placed sixth in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 free at the TISCA 6A Invite in November.
