NEW COMMIT: The University of Kentucky has picked up their third early verbal commitment for their growing Class of 2026 from Marin McKee of Virginia Beach, Va.

She will join Jordan Agliano and Breckin Gormley in Lexington at the start of the 2022-23 season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim at the University of Kentucky. A huge thank you to my coaches, teammates, friends, and family for all of the love and support. I am beyond excited to be part of such an amazing team. Go Wildcats!”

A true sprinter, McKee trains year-round with TIDE Swimming and sprinted to sixth place in the 50 free at Virginia Seniors in March after winning that event at the TAC Titans Blizzard Blitz in December.

In Summer 2019, she finaled in the 50m free at Virginia LCM Seniors before going on to earn a best time at Geneva Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.59
  • 100 free – 51.68
  • 50m free – 27.04
  • 100m free – 1:01.36

Currently a junior at Norfolk Academy, McKee is already a four-time individual Virginia Independent School State Championship finalist. She earned silver in the 100 free and bronze in the 50 free as a sophomore while securing the runner-up spot in both of those events during her freshman season.

Under head coach Lars Jorgensen, the Wildcats finished third at the 2020 SEC Championships.
