Serbian Water Polo Star in Critical Condition
BELGRADE, Serbia, June 30. ACCORDING to a report in the Guardian, Danilo Ikodinovic, a star Serbian water polo player, is in critical condition after being in a motorcycle accident this weekend.
"The eight-hour operation took all night and it involved a team of surgeons," head of the Novi Sad emergency center Zoran Djermanov was quoted by the Guardian as saying by Beta News Agency. "His condition is stable but his life is still in danger and we can't make any predictions at this time."
Ikodinovic is a top-flight player for Serbian water polo. He earned a bronze medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, and then a silver at the 2004 Athens Games. He has helped his team to gold medals in the 2005 Montreal World Championships and the 2006 Budapest World Cup.
