PHOENIX, Arizona, January 18. THE second-annual Swimming World Magazine Cactus Classic will be hosted by Scottsdale Aquatic Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. and Sun Devil Aquatics in Tempe, Ariz., again this year, and will run May 23-26. This year's meet now boasts some international flair as a team from Canada is slated to attend.
Scottsdale Aquatic Club will host prelims for the 12 and under swimmers and Sun Devil Aquatics will host prelims for the 15 and over swimmers. All finals will be held at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center at Arizona State University, home of the Sun Devil Aquatics team.
Each venue carries an 8-lane, outdoor, 50 meter pool with non-turbulent lane dividers. Separate 25-yard warm-up pools are available at each facility for continuous warm-up throughout the meet.
This is the second year that Swimming World Magazine has been the title sponsor. We anticipate some fast swimming, excellent awards, and a fun time in the Arizona sun.
