SEC Championships, Day 4 Prelims: Camille Spink Drops 21.01 50 Free
Friday is the day for speed at the 2026 SEC Championships. Josh Liendo is the headliner on the men’s side. But the women’s side got a huge boost in prelims with Tennessee’s Camille Spink dropping a prelims best time.
Spink went 21.01 to take the top seed in the finals. She was .58 seconds ahead of the field. It’s a best time for Spink, who was 21.25 in season and 21.23 at NCAAs last year.

Women’s 200 breaststroke
Florida’s Anita Bottazzo led the way with the quickest of four 2:09s, going 2:09.16. She’s the top seed entering the meet at an in-season time of 2:06.97. The Gators have the top three spots and four of five, with Anna Moore and Grace Rabb following.
Texas’ Angie Coe was ahead of Florida’s Molly Mayne. Texas’s Piper Enge, a top-10 seed, was a DFS. LSU pushed two into the A final.

Nate Germonprez set an Allan Jones Aquatic Center record by going 1:50.6. That downed the 1:51.56 set by Alabama’s Derek Maas in 2022.
Germonprez was more than 1.5 seconds up on teammate Campbell McKean, as Texas has a chance to consolidate its team lead. Teammate Will Scholtz was fifth.
Logan Brown of Texas A&M is the third seed at 1:52.20, a tenth back of McKean. Gabe Nunziata was fourth.

Camille Spink blistered the field with a time of 21.01. The meet record is just 20.98, set in 2023 by Maggie Mac Neil.
It’s a way back to Cadence Vincent in 21.59 for Alabama. Auburn’s Elizaveta Klevanovich is third in 21.67, .04 up on Eva Okaro. LSU again has two A finalists, led by Michaela de Villiers.

Josh Liendo looks like the one to beat, the Florida senior in good form with an 18.52 in the morning. He came in as the top seed in 18.40.
Gui Caribe of Tennessee is second in 18.69. Jere Hribar of LSU is third in 18.83. Caribe’s teammate Nikoli Blackman is the sixth seed. Garrett Gould was fourth in 18.89 for Texas.

Fab frosh Kennedi Dobson led the way in prelims in 4:35.44. The Georgia swimmer was well clear of Julie Brousseau of Florida, who went 4:37.12. Tennessee’s Ella Jansen was third.
Then came Texas, in what may prove the suffocation of the team race. Jillian Cox was fourth, leading five straight Longhorns. Erin Gemmell was eighth among them.

It’ll be a showdown in the final. The main protagonists figure to be Ahmed Jaouadi of Florida, who led prelims in 4:10.26. Rex Maurer was the top seed entering the meet, and he pulled through third in 4:12.11. In between is Leon Alcantara of Alabama in 4:11.83.
Texas was not as dominant as usual in this: Maurer is the only A finalist, with Jacob Wimberley 10th and Aidan Hammer 11th. Instead, Florida could make a move in the team standings with Jaouadi first, Gio Linscheer fourth and Ahmed Hafnaoui seventh.
