Riccardo Osio, 5x Italian Junior National Champion, Verbals to USC for 2025

NEW COMMIT: Butterflyer Riccardo Osio of Keller, Texas, has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Southern California beginning in Fall 2025.

He will join Campbell McKean as a member of the Trojans’ Class of 2029.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am humbled and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Southern California! Couldn’t have made it to this point if it wasn’t for my parents, my brother, as well as all my coaches and teammates. A huge thank you to all, including the entire USC coaching staff who have given me this amazing opportunity! I’m thrilled to become a TROJAN!! FIGHT ON”

Osio trains year-round with Lakeside Aquatic Club and most recently placed 13th in the 100 fly at Juniors West earlier this month. He placed sixth in the 100 fly this past summer at College Station Sectionals.

He holds citizenship in Italy, Ecuador and the United States and is a member of the Italian National Junior Team. He is a five-time Italian Junior National Champion and holds multiple national age group records. Osio represented Team Italy at the European Youth Olympic Festival where he won a gold medal as a member of the 4×100 medley relay.

His best times include:

  • 100 fly – 48.18
  • 200 fly – 1:48.49

Osio is currently a junior at Keller High School where he is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. He finished fifth in the 100 fly and 10th in the 200 free at the 2023 UIL Texas 6A State Championships after taking ninth in the 100 fly during his freshman season.

He helped his team claim the 6A state title last season.
