Versatile Campbell McKean Lends 2025 Verbal to USC
NEW COMMIT: The University of Southern California has received a new verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from the versatile Campbell McKean of Bend, Oregon.
He told Swimming World:
“I’m stoked to announce that I will be pursuing my academic and swimming career as a Trojan at the University of Southern California! Huge thank you to my coaches, teammates, family, and the USC staff for giving me this amazing opportunity and making it an easy decision! Fight On”
McKean trains year-round with Bend Swim Club and finished seventh in the 100m fly and 14th in the 200m IM this past summer at Junior Nationals. He had a great showing at Federal Way Sectionals back in March: He won the 200 IM, earned silver in the 100 fly, grabbed bronze in the 200 fly and 400 IM, and placed fourth in the 200 back as well as sixth in the 100 back.
His best times include:
- 100 fly – 48.00
- 200 fly – 1:46.89
- 200 IM – 1:46.77
- 400 IM – 3:52.13
- 100 back – 49.12
- 200 back – 1:47.32
- 200 free – 1:39.85
Currently a junior at Caldera High School, McKean won the 100 back and 200 IM at the 2023 Oregon 5A State Championships. He placed third and fourth, respectively, in those events at the 6A state meet during his freshman season.
