The 2026 USA Swimming Pro Swim Series stop in Westmont, Illinois, continued with Day 3 prelims on Friday, March 6.
The events on the docket are the men’s and women’s 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Here is a look at what happened on Friday morning:
Pro Swim Series: Women’s 100 Butterfly
Gretchen Walsh was well ahead of the field to take the top seed into the semifinals of the 100 butterfly.
Walsh got to the wall in 55.93, a full 3 seconds ahead of the field.
Lily Price of Australia took the second spot in 58.66 and Alabama’s Tessa Giele was also under a minute with a swim of 59.90.
The top 16 saw plenty of swimmers from around the world as well as Kelsey Zhang, who took fifth in 1:00.83, Longhorn Aquatics’ Lindsay Looney, who took the 10th spot in 1:01.74) and Mission Viejo’s Isabelle Odgers (1:02.13) and Nathalia Almeida (1:02.26), who took the 13th and 14th seeds, respectively.

Scarlet Aquatics’ Dare Rose took the second seed in 52.47, followed by Hillsboro’s Ethan Heasley (52.82).
Australia’s Matthew Temple took the fourth spot in 53.05, followed by Mission Viejo’s Trenton Julian (53.22).
Longhorn’s Shaine Casas crabbed the seventh spot in 53.49.
World record holder Caeleb Dressel scratched the event.

Pro Swim Series: Women’s 200 Freestyle
Canadian sensation Summer McIntosh, swimming for Longhorn Aquatics, took the top seed in the 200 free. The 19-year-old got to the wall in 1:56.87, about three seconds off her seed time, but a second ahead of the field.
Brazil’s Maria Fernanda Costa took the second seed in 1:57.54, just ahead of Longhorn’s Regan Smith (1:58.38).
Laker Swim’s Rylee Erisman, 16, claimed the fourth seed in 1:58.55, ahead of Indiana Olympian Anna Peplowski (1:58.68).
Canada’s Brooklyn Doutwright took the sixth spot in 1:59.55, followed by Olympian Simone Manuel (2:00.40) and Wisconsin’s Abby Carlson (2:00.44). Canadian Olympian Taylor Ruck was ninth in 2:00.72.

Longhorn Aquatic’s Chris Guiliano claimed the top seed in a stacked 200 free, getting to the wall in 1:45.38.
Fellow Olympian Luke Hobson took the second spot in 1:46.32, followed by Cal’s Gabriel Jett (1:46.88) and French Olympian Leon Marchand (1:47.72).
Australia’s Samuel Short took the fifth spot in 1:48.00, followed by U.S. Olympians Carson Foster (1:48.26), Brooks Curry (1:48.33) and Kieran Smith (1:48.45), while Cal’s Lucas Henveaux tied Smith for the eighth seed, forcing a swim off.

Aquajets Swim Team’s Isabelle Stadden took the top spot in the 100 backstroke, getting to the wall in 58.68.
Olympic medalist Katharine Berkoff took the second seed in a stacked event, finishing in 59.62 as seeds 2-7 are Olympians.
Berkoff’s training partner Rhyan White took the third spot in 1:00.74, followed by Wisconsin’s Phoebe Bacon (1:00.77), Canada’s Ingrid Wilm (1:01.01) and Taylor Ruck (1:01.07), who was doing a back-to-back double, as was Anna Peplowski (1:01.11).
Bermuda’s Emma Harvey took the eight spot in 1:01.90.
