CINCINNATI, Ohio, October 27. THE Cincinnati Marlins and Sycamore High School are mourning the loss of Jose Cerda Navarro, who died suddenly Tuesday at a swim practice.
According to a story on Cincinnati's Fox TV affiliate's website Fox19.com, Cerda collapsed on the pool deck at St. Xavier High School Tuesday after suffering a cardiac event. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Cerda was celebrating his 18th birthday on Tuesday. He was a member of the Sycamore High swimming and water polo teams, and swam for Cincinnati Marlins.
