LOUGHBOROUGH, United Kingdom, November 3. HARRY Robert Walker, former president of the British Swimming Association, passed away on October 31 aged 103.
He became President of the ASA in 1963, and dedicated many years to the swimming. In the 1930s, he became a broadcaster for the BBC, covering water polo, diving and swimming from the 1948 to 1972 Olympics, as well as numerous international swimming events.
A keen water polo player, he played for Warwickshire in his youth, became a referee and managed the British Water Polo team for a brief stint.
He retired from teaching in 1963 and broadcasting in 1972.
