IRVINE, California, August 20. JESSICA Hardy put together the fastest time swum in a textile suit in the women's 50 breast at the Pan Pacific Championships.
Hardy clocked a blazing fast time of 30.03, the third fastest time ever and the quickest in a textile suit. Hardy owns the top two times ever of a 29.80 and a 29.95. Hardy also demolished Yuliya Efimova's 2010 top-ranked time of 30.29 set at the European Championships.
Australia's Leiston Pickett finished second in 30.75, while teammate Leisel Jones took third in 30.78. Jones has been faster this year with a 30.61, while Pickett improved on her season best of 30.80.
USA's Annie Chandler (31.20), Japan's Satomi Suzuki (31.49), Canada's Chelsey Salli (31.55), Japan's Mina Matsushima (32.00) and Canada's Ashley McGregor (32.01) completed the top eight finishes.
USA's Rebecca Soni topped the B final in 30.68, clearing her prelim time of 31.05, but falling short of her top-five ranked season best of 30.63 from the Mare Nostrum meet in June.
