COLUMBUS, Ohio, December 3. DURING his last day of eligibility in the 13-14 age group, Pleasanton's Nick Silverthorn shot down Ian Crocker's U.S. National Age Group record in the 13-14 age division of the 200-yard freestyle.
Silverthorn clocked a 1:38.94 during prelims of the 200 free at the U.S. Short Course National Championships held in Columbus today. That performance beat Crocker's long-standing 1997 record of 1:39.20.
Silverthorn's next target will be the 15-16 age group record of Matthew Belecanech set last year with a 1:36.05.
