NCSA Junior National Championships Day 3 Prelims Recap
Day three of the NCSA Junior National Championships is underway in Orlando, Florida.
There were plenty of fast swims during Thursday’s preliminaries.
Men’s meet
200 Free
Actor Fungairino took the top seed in the 200 free to open the men’s day in 1:36.49. Peter Larson was second (1:37.48), followed by Ryan Gridley (1:37.82), Jack Dolan (1:38.18), David Madej (1:38.22), Jack Dahlgren (1:38.23), John Moore (1:38.47) and Julian Hill (1:38.64).
50 Breast
Charles Scheinfeld took the top spot in the 50 breast, finishing in 24.8. William Myhre was second (25.19), followed by Eli Fouts (25.33), Luke Massey (25.55), Izaak Bastian (25.58), Casey Storch (25.62), Daniel Alber (25.98) and Jason Louser (25.98), tying for the seventh seed.
400 IM
Casey Storch took the top seed in the 400 IM in 3:49.81, nearly two seconds ahead of Jason Louser (3:51.37). Sean Conway took the third seed (3:51.52), followed by Kevin Vargas (3:52.47), Michael Daly (3:52.71), Josh Harlan (3:53.32), Kyle Barker (3:53.63) and Gabriel Parnell (3:54.72).
50 Fly
William Davis swam to the top seed in the 50 fly, finishing in 21.51. David Madej was second (21.99), followed by Charles Korndorffer (22.00), Caleb Carlson (22.01), Henry Claesson (22.28), Spencer Walker (22.31), Brandon Hamblin (22.33) and Zachary Brown (22.34).
Women’s meet
200 Free
In the 200 free, Claire Tuggle took the top seed in 1:46.61. Morgan Tankersley took the second spot (1:48.00), followed by Talia Bates (1:48.13), Sophie Housey (1:48.32), Addison Smith (1:48.35), Sophie Skinner (1:48.37), Rachel Klinker (1:48.41) and Annika Wagner (1:48.52).
50 Breast
Claire Grover took the top seed in the 50 breast, finishing in 28.38. Kylie Powers took the second seed (28.44), followed by Alexis Wenger (28.62), Mikaela Fullerton (28.64), Abigail Arens (28.67), Isabelle Stadden (28.82), Hannah Bach (28.87) and Valerie Tarazi (28.88).
400 IM
Grace Sheble of Nova Aquatics took the top seed in the 400 IM in 4:10.85). Madison Homovich sits second (4:12.32), followed by Sophie Housey (4:15.58), Madison Kolessar (4:15.83), Annika Wagner (4:16.75), Gillian Davey (4:17.14), Paige McCormick (4:18.42) and Kaylyn Schoof (4:18.45).
50 Fly
Talia Bates took the top seed in the 50 fly in 24.18. Grace Cooper took the second spot at 24.30, followed by Phoebe Bacon (24.43), Athena Ye (24.47), Victoria Huske (24.48), Isabele Stadden (24.63), Abigail Gibbons (24.75) and Olivia French (24.77).
