NEW COMMIT: The U.S. Naval Academy has gained yet another verbal commitment for the fall of 2020, this time from Haverhill, Mass. native Abigail “Abbie” Sullivan who will join Theresa MilioMaya Novack and Hannah Pratt next year.

Sullivan swims year-round with SOLO Aquatics and owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 200 fly. She most recently achieved four best times at Indianapolis Speedo Sectionals where her highest finish was an eighth-place showing in the 200m fly. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American raced three events at Juniors East in December before going on to earn bronze in the 1000 free at New England Seniors. A current junior at Central Catholic High School, she took eighth in the 200m fly at Rochester Futures this past summer.

She told Swimming World:

“I am ecstatic to announce my commitment to swim and study at the United States Naval Academy! I cannot wait to continue my athletic and academic career at the Academy, learning from some of the most prestigious and honorable people in the world. Thank you to my friends, family, and coaches for helping me find my new home & get one step closer to becoming a Naval Officer! BEAT ARMY”

Her best times include:

  • 50 fly – 27.25
  • 100 fly – 57.13
  • 200 fly – 2:02.36
  • 200 IM – 2:06.46
  • 1000 free – 10:15.97
  • 1650 free – 17:03.87

Sullivan will be a huge addition to Navy’s lineup when she arrives on campus at the start of the 2020-21 season following the graduation of defending conference 200 fly champion Delaney Walz. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 fly at the 2019 Patriot League Championships where Navy won their eighth-straight team title.
