NEW COMMIT: The United States Naval Academy has earned their first verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from Fishers, Ind. freestyler Hannah Pratt.

Pratt swims year-round with Fishers Area Swimming Tigers and most recently raced a pair of events at Indianapolis Speedo Sectionals after placing sixth in the 500 free at Indiana Seniors. She recorded three best times at Indiana LCM Seniors this past summer before going on to compete in three races at NCSAs.

A current junior at Fishers High School, Pratt is a four-time Indiana State Championship finalist. She placed fifth in the 200 free and 10th in the 100 free as a junior after placing 11th and 15th, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

She told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at the United States Naval Academy! Huge thank you to my family, coaches, friends, and God for helping me get this far! I’m excited to see what the future holds! #rollgoats #NWS”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.16
  • 100 free – 51.32
  • 200 free – 1:50.44
  • 500 free – 4:59.22

Even with 1.5 years of club swimming still to go before arriving in Annapolis, Pratt will make an immediate impact in Navy’s mid-distance freestyle group. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 100/200/500 free at the 2019 Patriot League Championships where Navy won the team title in dominant fashion.
