DENVER, Colo. January,24. NORTHERN Arizona's Corie Collins has been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week. The award is the second for NAU, and also the second for Collins who earned the honor once last season.
Collins, a junior from Mesa, Ariz., won two individual events and helped NAU win two relays in the Lumberjacks 180-114 win at San Diego. Collins anchored the winning 200 medley relay team (1:50.25), and led-off for the first-place 400 freestyle relay team (3:38.44).
Collins also grabbed individual wins for NAU in both the 50 freestyle (24.67) and the 500 freestyle with a season-best time of 5:08.63.
