Moses Chosen USA Today’s “Athlete of the Week”
ARLINGTON, Va., January 20. ED Moses's spectacular performances at World Cups 4 and 5 in Stockholm and Berlin earned him USA Today's accolades as "Olympic Athlete of the Week."
Moses swept all three breaststroke races in both meets and set a mind-boggling world mark of 2:02.92 in the 200 meters in Berlin.
Here's what the newspaper had to say:
"Triple-doubles are out. Double-triples are in.
Swimmer Ed Moses entered the week with an ambitious schedule, entering World Cups in Stockholm and Berlin intending to race in all three breaststroke distances — 50, 100 and 200 meters. Two meets, six wins.
"Along the way, he set a short-course world record in the 200 with a time of 2 minutes, 2.92 seconds, and he supplanted teammate Michael Phelps atop the World Cup rankings.
"For his efforts, Moses is this week's USATODAY.com U.S. Olympic Athlete of the Week."
