Mizzou Adds Verbal from Illinois State Runner-Up Calvin Windle to Class of 2025

NEW COMMIT: St. Charles, Ill. native Calvin Windle has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Missouri and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2021.

He will join Grant BochenskiEthan RoachTy Spillane and Cade Oliver as a member of the Tigers’ class of 2025.

He told Swimming World:

“I am very proud to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at the University of Missouri. I am very thankful for my family, friends and coaches who have supported me throughout the process. Go Tigers!”

Windle does his club swimming with St. Charles Swim Team and owns the U.S. Open cut in the 100m back with the Junior National standards in the 200/500 free. He most recently won the 500 free at Illinois Seniors and earned eight best times at NCSAs in 2019. Last summer, he raced to 12th in the 100m back at Minneapolis Sectionals where he achieved five lifetime bests.

His best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:36.95
  • 500 free – 4:28.16
  • 50 back – 23.27
  • 100 back – 48.99

A rising senior at St. Charles East High School, Windle is a three-time Illinois State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was the 200 free runner-up and grabbed bronze in the 100 back as a junior while taking fifth in the 100 fly during his sophomore season.
