Miami Ohio RedHawks Add Katheryn Antonowich, Natalie Stump to Class of 2025

NEW COMMIT: Miami University of Ohio has picked up two new verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Norcross, Ga. Katheryn Antonowich and Natalie Stump of Lake Charles, La.

Both talented swimmers will join Taylor ConnorsLauren MurrayEmily Rinker, and Maggie Stock in Oxford at the start of the 2021-22 season.

Under head coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron, the RedHawks finished fourth overall in the team standings at the 2020 MAC Championships.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Miami University! I am so grateful for my family, coaches, and friends who have supported me thus far. I can’t wait to be part of such an amazing team! Go Redhawks! ❤️? #LoveandHonor”

Primarily a freestyler and IMer, Antonowich does her club swimming with Dynamo Swim Club and notched six lifetime bests at the Southern Premier Invitational en route to placing 18th in both the 400 IM and 500 free. She also had a trio of top-15 finishes at Georgia Seniors in December.

Her best times include:

  • 100 free – 52.26
  • 200 free – 1:52.30
  • 500 free – 5:03.64
  • 200 IM – 2:05.86
  • 400 IM – 4:28.82

Last summer, Antonowich finished 16th in the 400m IM at Georgia LCM Seniors before going on to record four best times at Greensboro Futures.

NATALIE STUMP

She told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to continue my education and swimming career at Miami University! Thank you to my family, friends, teammates and all of my coaches for supporting me in and out of the water! Can’t wait to be a RedHawk next fall! Go RedHawks! #LoveandHonor”

Also a strong freestyler, Stump swims year-round with Spartan Swimming and most recently achieved five best times at College Station Sectionals where her highest finish was an 13th-place showing in the 800m free after earning three silver medals at Louisiana Seniors. She also recorded five top-8 finishes at Southern Zone Seniors last long course season.

Her best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:52.98
  • 500 free – 4:58.33
  • 1000 free – 10:21.29
  • 1650 free – 17:07.03

A rising senior at Alfred M. Barbe High School, Stump is a six-time Louisiana DI State Championship finalist. She won the 200 free and was the 500 free runner-up during her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons.
