Men’s Swimming and Diving Enters Top-25
PITTSBURGH, PA. January, 17. PITT'S men's swimming and diving team entered the College Swim Coaches Association (CSCAA) dual meet poll top-25 rankings for the first time this season, as announced by CSCAA on Jan. 12.
The last time Pitt was ranked was on Jan. 4, 2005 when the team dropped a 141-120 meet to Princeton while holding the 23rd spot on the polls.
Pitt is currently 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the Big East and was one of two Big East teams to be ranked by the association.
This season, Pitt has claimed convincing wins over non-conference opponents St. Bonaventure (148.5-94.5), Oakland (169-74) and Maryland (274-77) and Big East foes Syracuse (169-74) and Villanova (300-48). The Panthers' lone loss of the season came in the home-opener against No. 19 Notre Dame where they battled to a nail-biting 122-121 loss.
The Panthers host conference opponent, Cincinnati on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. in Trees Pool.
