Louisiana High School Swimmers End Season

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana, December 8. IT is the end of the high school swimming and the end of the hurricane season, whew! Both boys and girls from four different divisions competed at the Louisiana State Natatorium. Here are the top times overall.

Boys

Robert Looney turned in great times, dominating the 500 free in 4:33.38 and the 100 fly in 51.04. Sam Hayes swam away with the win in the 100 free, 47.10, and James Myers sprinted to victory in the 50 free with a 21.05. John Cefalu was a double winner in the 100 back in 54.64 and the 200 IM with a quick 1:59.30.

John Tortorich was another double winner and list topper with his times in the 100 breast, 59.04, and 100 fly, 51.19. Mark Reeves turned in the top time in the 200 free with his 1:44.05.

Girls

Leigh Ann King leads off for the girls with her two wins. First, she went a state record in the 50 free with a 23.11 and added a win in the 100 free, going 51.67. Micah Martindale also won two events and topped the list with her 1:52.77 in the 200 free and a 4:59.10 in the 500 free.

The final two-time appearance goes to Mo Lefort, who won the 100 fly with a 58.13 and the 100 breast with a 1:07.15. Morgan McGee won the 200 IM and had the top time with a 2:12.43. Erica Dagg won her 100 back in 56.80 and took the top time overall.
