NEW COMMIT: Rockwall, Texas native Amelia Warren has verbally committed to Liberty University and will join the Flames as a member of the class of 2024.

A versatile swimmer, Warren swims year-round with Rockwall Aquatic Center of Excellence and most recently placed 14th in the 200m fly at Des Moines Futures. Last winter, she achieved a best time in the 100 free at College Station Speedo Sectionals before registering three finals appearances at the Texas LCM Senior Circuit.

Also competing for Heath High School, Warren has qualified for the Texas UIL 6A State Championships each of her three seasons thus far. She competed in the 200 IM during her junior season after placing 14th in that event as a sophomore and also raced to 13th in the 500 free during her rookie campaign.

She told Swimming World:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at Liberty University. I want to thank all my family, friends and coaches who have supported me along the way. I am honored to be swimming with this amazing program. Go Flames!”

Her best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:54.32
  • 500 free – 5:01.09
  • 1000 free – 10:21.47
  • 100 fly – 56.96
  • 200 fly – 2:04.00
  • 200 IM – 2:05.05
  • 400 IM – 4:24.71

Warren’s versatility will be extremely beneficial for Liberty and she could find herself in a number of different events. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 fly as well as the B-final of the 100 fly and 500 free at the 2019 CCSA Championships where Liberty earned the team title. She will also join Jamyson Robb on campus at the start of the 2020-21 season.

Her coach, Neil Walker, said:

“I am excited for Amelia and her commitment to Liberty.  She will be a great addition to their strong tradition!”
