Jordyn Homoki, Erin Szczupakiewicz Set to Join Miami RedHawks’ Growing Class of 2025

NEW COMMITS: Miami University of Ohio has scored another set of verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Strongsville, Ohio native Jordyn Homoki and Erin Szczupakiewicz of Muskego, Wis.

Both talented swimmers will join Natalie StumpKatherine AntonowichTaylor ConnorsLauren MurrayEmily Rinker, and Maggie Stock in Oxford at the start of the 2021-22 season.

Under head coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron, the RedHawks finished fourth overall in the team standings at the 2020 MAC Championships.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am extremely thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Miami University!!! I can’t begin to describe how thankful I am for my family, teammates, coaches, and everyone who has supported me along the way! Go Redhawks!!! ❤️”

A versatile swimmer, Homoki trains year-round with SwimStrongsville and most recently won the 100m free at Lake Erie Seniors where she recorded an additional four top-6 finishes. She earned a best time at Juniors East in December and earned silver in the 200m breast and bronze in the 50m breast and 100m free at Lake Erie LCM Seniors last July.

Her best times include:

  • 100 free – 52.56
  • 50 back – 26.40
  • 100 back – 55.60
  • 200 back – 2:04.87
  • 50 breast – 29.00
  • 100 breast – 1:02.78
  • 50 fly – 25.63
  • 100 fly – 55.54

Also competing for Strongsville High School, Homoki is a six-time Ohio State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American placed ninth in both the 50 free and 100 fly as a junior while taking seventh in the 100 breast and 11th in the 100 fly during her sophomore season.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at Miami University! Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to this point! Go Redhawks!!”

Antoher extremely versatile swimmer, Szczupakiewicz does her club swimming with Waukesha Express Swim Team and earned bronze in both the 200 free and 200 fly at the Wisconsin 13&O State Championships in March and swam on three relays at Juniors West. Last summer, she recorded eight best times at Wisconsin 13&O LCM State Championships where her highest finish was a fourth-place showing in the 400m free.

Her best times include:

  • 100 free – 51.96
  • 200 free – 1:51.45
  • 500 free – 4:57.71
  • 50 back – 26.98
  • 100 back – 56.11
  • 100 fly – 55.57
  • 200 fly – 2:03.50

A rising senior at Muskego High School, Szczupakiewicz is a five-time Wisconsin DI State Championship finalist. She finished third in the 500 free and fifth in the 100 fly during her junior campaign while placing 11th in the 100 back and sixth in the 100 fly as a sophomore.
