Japanese Olympic Trials: Reiko Nakamura Joins Sub-Minute Club, Breaks Japanese Record in 100 Back
TOKYO, Japan, April 15. WHILE Swimming World Japanese correspondent Hideki Mochizuki will have a complete recap after the second day of swimming at the Japanese Olympic Trials, here's a quick update.
Reiko Nakamura joined the sub-minute club in the women's 100 back with a time of 59.96 in prelims. She surpassed her previous national record of 1:00.29 set at the Japan International Swim Meet back in 2007.
Just this year, 11 swimmers have eclipsed the 1:00 barrier.
