MANCHESTER, England, April 12. ISTANBUL, Turkey, will be the organizer of the 11th FINA World Short Course Championships to take place in 2012. The vote on the winning candidate was made on April 12 by the FINA Bureau while at the FINA World Short Course Championships held in Manchester.
The other bidding city for the organization of these championships was Vienna, Austria.
When announcing the results of the vote, the FINA President thanked the effort and commitment of the two high-quality bidders, and wished all the luck to the Turkish organizers.
After Manchester 2008 and before Istanbul 2012, the 10th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) will be held in Dubai (UAE) from April 7-11, 2010.
