BRADENTON, Florida, February 1. IMG Academies (IMGA) is pleased to announce that The Swimming Academy will join IMGA's program roster this summer, complementing six other sports academies already on campus.
IMG Academies is the most respected and unique training environment in the world of sports today; it attracts players from all fifty states and more than eighty countries. IMGA offers its totally comprehensive programs to serious minded juniors desiring to reach their potential while creating future college opportunities as successful student-athletes.
The Swimming Academy will be led by Jorge Jaramillo, a two-time Olympic swimmer for Colombia, a three-time World Cup participant, and a three-time Pan Am Games participant. The Swimming Academy's first-ever summer camps will be held weekly from June through August 2008. Boys and girls ages 9-18 are eligible to attend. The program will focus on all aspects of training required to excel in swimming, including stroke technique analysis, speed, strength, endurance, swimming-specific physical conditioning, and developing the mental discipline necessary to succeed under the pressure of competition. Full-time Academy programs will commence in September 2008.
