NEW COMMIT: The University of Arkansas has picked up their second early verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from Trenton, Ill. native Chloe Brede.

She will join Delaney Harrison of Woodstock, Ga. as a member of the Razorbacks’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am beyond blessed to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Arkansas! A big thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for always pushing me to do my best. So excited to be joining the Razorback family! Go hogs!!❤️?

A versatile swimmer, Brede does her club swimming with O’Fallon Seahawks and most recently competed at the 18&U Winter Championships in Lees Summit where she earned four best times and posted four top-3 finishes. She also had a strong showing at Juniors West in December 2019.

In Summer 2019, she collected six gold medals at the Ozark LCM Championships before going on to place 10th in the 200m fly at Des Moines Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 55.17
  • 200 fly – 2:00.24
  • 200 IM – 2:03.68
  • 400 IM – 4:23.48
  • 50 free – 23.94
  • 100 free – 51.41
  • 200 free – 1:51.91
  • 500 free – 4:59.38
  • 200 back – 2:02.02

Currently a junior at Wesclin High School, Brede finished 10th in the 200 IM at the Illinois State Championships as a sophomore while taking eighth in that event during her freshman season. In 2020, she won the 200/500 free combo at the IHSA Edwardsville Sectional meet.

Brede will add valuable depth in a number of different events and she would’ve been Arkansas’ top 200 butterflyer last season by over three seconds. She’s just shy of scoring range at the 2020 SEC Championships in the 200 fly where the Razorbacks.
