Hokies Add 2025 Verbal Pledge From Sweden’s Lucas Humling

NEW COMMIT: Virginia Tech has added another verbal commitment for 2025, this time from Linköping, Sweden native Lucas Humling.

He will join Benedek Tóth in Blacksburg as a member of the Hokies’ Class of 2029.

He told Swimming World:

“I’m happy to announce my verbal commitment to Virginia Tech. I’m very excited to continue my athletic and academic career with the Hokies. I would also like to thank my family, coaches and friends that have helped me throughout my swimming career so far. GO HOKIES!”

Humling most recently competed at the Nordic Championships where his highest finish was a second-place showing in the 200m fly. He competed at the European Junior Championships this past summer

In LCM, his best times include:

  • 50m free – 24.32
  • 100m free – 52.85
  • 200m free – 1:55.16
  • 400m free – 4:01.31
  • 200m fly – 2:08.78

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 50 free – 21.15
  • 100 free – 46.13
  • 200 free – 1:40.76
  • 500 free – 4:29.06
  • 200 fly – 1:52.81
