NEW COMMIT: Charleston, S.C. native Grace Isaacs has pledged her verbal commitment to Liberty University and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2021.

She will join Sydney Stricklin, Mary-Ashlynne Gordon, and Kate Baker as a member of the Lady Flames’ class of 2025.

She told Swimming World:

“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Liberty University. I want to thank Coach Jake, Coach Jessica, and all the girls who made me feel so welcome and at home. Thank you to my friends, family and coaches who helped me through this process; I couldn’t have made it without them. I am so excited to start a new chapter of my life as a Liberty Flame!!??”

A versatile swimmer, Isaacs trains year-round with Wahoo Aquatics Club and is a Futures qualifier. She most recently placed 12th in the 400 IM at Cary Sectionals after recording five top-12 finishes at South Carolina Seniors. Last summer, she placed fifth in the 400m free and 11th in the 100m breast at South Carolina LCM Seniors.

Her best times include:

  • 200 IM – 2:04.03
  • 400 IM – 4:23.81
  • 100 fly – 56.01
  • 200 fly – 2:03.57
  • 50 free – 24.03
  • 100 free – 51.76
  • 200 free – 1:51.53

Isaacs versatility will be extremely beneficial for the Flames and she could find herself in a number of different events throughout her college career. At the last season’s conference meet, she would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 IM, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 free.

Under head coach Jake Shellenberger, Liberty clinched their third conference title in program history at the 2020 CCSA Championships.
