German Olympian Marius Kusch is Latest Swimmer to Join Enhanced Games

German Olympian Marius Kusch is Latest Swimmer to Join Enhanced Games

The Enhanced Games have added another high-profile athlete to its stable with the announcement that German Olympian Marius Kusch has joined the organization’s roster. Kusch was a 2020 Olympian and captured the bronze medal in the 100-meter butterfly at the 2022 World Short Course Championships in Melbourne. Kusch joins an Enhanced Games swimming roster that includeds Great Britain’s Ben Proud, Greece’s Kristian Gkolomeev and Australian James Magnussen, among others.

“Joining the Enhanced Games is a chance to push myself to the limit and compete against some of the best athletes in the world for an unprecedented purse,” Kusch said in a statement released by the Enhanced Games. “Next year’s event will be an incredible competition, and one I am truly excited to be a part of.”

The Enhanced Games will be held in Las Vegas next year, with athletes targeting large financial purses. Bonuses will be awarded for swimmers who go under the official world record in several sprint events. The Enhanced Games will allow athletes to utilize performance-enhancing substances and utilize suits that have been banned by World Aquatics.

In addition to representing Germany on the international stage, Kusch was an NCAA record-setter at the Division II level while competing for Queens University, which has since made the jump to Division I.
