NEW COMMIT: Monroe, Ga. native Charlie Stout has announced his verbal commitment to remain in state and swim for the University of Georgia beginning in the fall of 2022.

He will join Sam Kohm and Matt Sates as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2026.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Georgia! I wouldn’t be here without my coaches, my parents, and my friends who have always supported me. I can’t wait to swim with this amazing program!”

A Junior National qualifier, Stout does his club swimming with SwimAtlanta and most recently picked up five lifetime bests at the Peachstate 18&U Championships in December and placed seventh in the 200 breast at the Speedo Southern Premier Invite back in March.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 56.39
  • 200 breast – 2:02.47
  • 200 IM – 1:53.98

Currently a junior at George Walton Academy, Stout is already a four-time individual Georgia 1-3A State Championship finalist. He won the 100 breast and finished third in the 200 free as a sophomore while earning silver in the 500 free and bronze in the 200 free during his freshman season.

He has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for his efforts in the pool and in the classroom.

Georgia finished third at the 2020 SEC Championships, only 22 points behind runners-up Texas A&M.
